Rich Hammel earns clinical informatics board certification
Rare combination of board certifications stands out
Enterprise Health’s chief product evangelist, Rich Hammel, MD, MPH, FACPM and FACOEM, successfully passed the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) certifying examination for clinical informatics. This accomplishment, when combined with his board certification in occupational medicine, puts him in the top one percent of the most qualified to help manage the intersection of clinical informatics and occupational health.
ABPM board certification is a trusted credential that demonstrates a physician’s exceptional expertise in a specialty and/or subspecialty of medical practice. Throughout the United States, there are currently 2,170 physicians with clinical informatics board certification, and only 21 of those certified specialists are double boarded in occupational medicine and clinical informatics. Rich is one of the very few physicians with both board certifications, and needless to say, we are very happy he is on our team.
Unique skill sets create tremendous value for clients
Rich’s unique knowledge and expertise are perfect in his role as Enterprise Health’s chief product evangelist. He draws upon his extensive 30+ years of occupational health experience in academic, clinical, government and corporate settings to understand trends in the field, and now will bring his understanding of informatics concepts, methods and tools to assess the information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
Combining these skill sets creates tremendous value as he serves as the voice of the customer to help us create an even better experience for current and future customers. He helps us understand the challenges large corporate, health system and government agencies that operate their own onsite health clinics face as they evaluate, implement and refine clinical processes, clinical decision support systems and clinical information systems. One way Rich does this is by organizing and moderating user group meetings with power users and client executive leaders during which he collects insights and identifies opportunities for product enhancements and new developments.
Data and technology key to improving healthcare delivery

We are extremely fortunate to have Rich as our subject matter expert on occupational and environmental medicine, and now clinical informatics. The exceptional knowledge he brings to Enterprise Health will help us continue to enhance our solution to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs.
