Over the last several weeks, most of our Enterprise Health clients have turned their attention to the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) or COVID-19 outbreak. Our global corporate clients are handling affected locations, managing expatriate populations, adjusting travel policies and preparing for what increasingly looks like a possible pandemic. Our health system clients in the United States are also making contingency plans in preparation for a potential widespread outbreak here.
As large companies and health systems activate their disease outbreak response plans, many are pulling in resources from outside their employee health departments to deal with this issue. In fact, one of our health system clients that uses Enterprise Health to manage employee health asked us about our licensing approach in the event they have to add users to the application to help with the management of affected individuals and those providing care.
This is one example of the many logistical details that organizations face when planning for how to respond to situations like the spread of COVID-19, and we recognize that adding users to deal with this issue is not something our clients have budgeted for. In addition, COVID-19 is likely to have a negative economic impact on the business operations of many organizations.
To assist clients as they gear up for and manage their COVID-19 responses, Enterprise Health has created a COVID-19 license type at no additional charge. The COVID-19 license will enable Enterprise Health clients to add temporary users specifically in support of managing a COVID-19 epidemic. Our goal with this specific license type is to make it easy for our clients to provision temporary users rapidly as they respond to this outbreak.
We are also working with clients in other ways to equip them to best handle the situation. For example, at least one of our clients has asked that we temporarily disable their respiratory protection surveillance panel given the restricted availability of N95 respirators. We will re-enable this panel for them once masks are again widely available.
This situation is very dynamic, and we are monitoring it closely. As new information becomes available, we will continue to collaborate with our client community to respond.
